Predictive maintenance of actuators in linear systems: A receding horizon set‐theoretic approach

This work is focused on a model predictive control (MPC) based approach for the regulation of systems whose actuators are subject to loss effectiveness. Such degradation process, evolution assumed be measurable and predictable, can lead breakdown whenever certain thresholds exceeded. Within this context, if problem defined with ad hoc operational constraints and/or running costs, intrinsic MPC capability mitigating faulty events arises. To end, proposed scheme consists two modules: former in charge performing prognostic activity actuators' health, while second one reconfigures law basis information. The core method relies modeling healthy plant configurations via switching paradigm that instrumental offline determine sequences precomputed inner approximations one-step ahead controllable sets. regions online selected by logic order signal properly weighted measured level.
